Status update

I"ve gotten more done today than I have in a long time. I'm fairly happy with the first 40 pages (as a rough first draft). This has been the hardest part - hammering out the beginning. Still needs work, but at least I can move on to the next section. I have a better vision for what is coming up - it's not going to be easy to modify and mold the next 200 typed pages, but I have a goal in mind that I am going to be striving to meet.

Writer's Block...

...is a horrible thing. Working in an unrelated field doesn't help, despite the fact that I love my job as well as my employer. I'm normally wiped out by the time I get home, and even when I'm not I would rather sit with the fam than write (even if it was stream-of-consciousness). For a while I was able to get a lot down on paper whenever I was working overnight (updating servers, etc.), but lately that has trickled out a little bit. I've heard that good writing is a muscle that must be exercised, and I just haven't had the time.
I finished five good pages last week. I'm sure there are "real" authors out there who would laugh at such progress, but I am very happy with these...

Ahhhh, my first post!

As with many new blog(ger)s, I find myself filled with the power of the internet, and wish to channel my inner rage at all that is wrong with the world as I view it. Utilizing my vast power over this particular corner of the internet, I will rule this blog with a fist of iron. Sarcasm and witty rejoinders will be the norm, and all those who come against this blog will tremble!
